Training should lead somewhere.

A course shouldn't finish with somebody being handed a certificate and left to work out the next step alone. Progression is built into the centre.

    Into employment

    Support goes beyond teaching the role. We help learners build strong CVs, apply for suitable roles, prepare for online and face-to-face interviews and present their skills with confidence.

    Learners also develop the workplace skills employers expect: communication, punctuality, teamwork, responsibility and problem solving. Where possible, we work with employers on work experience, placements and job opportunities.

    Into self-employment

    For anyone learning a trade or a professional, digital, technical or service-based skill who wants to work for themselves.

    Learn how to price your services properly, understand costs and profit, invoice customers, communicate professionally, manage your time and avoid undervaluing your work just to win customers.

    Into business

    We introduce business structures, systems, customer service, marketing and administration, so starting and running a business becomes a realistic, achievable option.

    Over time, learners who build their own businesses can come back as employers, taking on trainees and offering work experience.

A lifelong plan

We don't want somebody's relationship with the centre to end when their course finishes. The idea is that people stay connected and, in time, help somebody else.

Creating future employers

The person who needed an opportunity creates one.

A child might first come for tutoring and return years later for career support. A young person might learn a trade, work for several years, start a business and come back as an employer or trainer.

Former learners can speak to a class, mentor somebody, offer a site visit, provide work experience, take on a trainee or help deliver training themselves. Karima already has a strong culture of volunteering, and we want to carry that same habit of giving back into careers and skills.
